Hi Andrea,

I have a new issue. I was thinking of using CP to replace the search tool I have currently implemented on my site (Search & Select: Matbase ). This tool is custom made for an obsolete CMS. Needless to see I really want to migrate to Joomla.

I have one list of properties of the same order which can be used as search criteria simultaneously, to reduce the number of search results. Can I use three autocomplete fields with one set of tags in CP? I don't want to have three identical sets of tags, which would also result in duplicate tags in the menu and cloud. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Richard

I have to add that I'm not planning on using the same configuration with properties and minimum and maximum value, as I do now. I noticed that this was difficult to use for many users. I want to use criteria that are easier to use, like 'low strength', 'average strength' and 'high strength'.

We'll be analyzing this issue in the coming days. I think we'll find a solution for some (or maybe all) the needs.

Hi Andrea,

Could you give me a status update? I would like to know if a work-around or solution is available soon. I'm close to the point that the search module is my last task to complete.

Greets,

Richard

The only possible workaround - IMHO - is to use a checkbox-type field for each property.
E.g.:
Density => [Low density, Medium Density, Hi Density]
Resistivity => [Low Resistivity, Medium Resistivity, Hi Resistivity]
Etc.

That should work.

Hi Andrea,

I guess it would work, but I'd have to offer my visitors many checkbox fields, which would conflict with the usability of the site. I'm not very enthousiastic about this option at this moment.
You mentioned you would look for a solution. Any updtae on that yet?

Greets,

Richard
