issues with cptags on eventlist items è stato creato da rdickey
eventlist 1.0.1 in joomla 1.5.23 with custom properties 2.0.

I think the eventlist support is incomplete or broken.

I can assign tag(s) to events, which works fine. But cptags appear to also be automatically rendered for my event categories - using the event tag. so if i have a event id 1 with a tag, my category with an id of 1 displays the same tag...and that tag has nothing to do with that category.

can see this also when editing categories in event list. i haven't added any tags to my categories, but if i click the CP tags on category 1, it shows me the assigned tags for the eventlist id 1...

needs to have the references to categories removed or true support for an eventlist category (seperate from an eventlist event) added. please advice, needing this resolved and hoping for a paid module of this price this is something that can be addressed as it doesn't work as is. let me know if i can provide more.

You are correct: cptags is "fooled" by that category layout.
There's any easy fix. Set parameter 'Tags only in detail view' = yes, in cptags content plugin. That will force CP to display tags only when viewing a single event.

Thank you for the reply, but i don't believe the solution resolved the issue. I have found i must turn off the plug in because it is displaying a category when viewing a single event (even though I have not tagged any categories - so it happens to display whatever category happens to have a matching id of the event which i have tagged) - so rather than use the cp plug in to display the wrong tag info i disabled the plugin and require that the user add tags using the editor button i have installed. This isn't ideal either, having it be aware of the difference between a event and a category (or venue) would be more effective. I have to advise users not to tag anything other than events...

The code that allow CP to handle third party content items has to be generic, in order to adapt to as many components as possible. So it's not really unexpected that some component+view+task combination triggers undesired results.
If you send a couple of screenshots and/or links to our support email (so that we better understand the issue) we will do our best to suggest code hacks and workarounds to improve integration between CP and EventList.
