Joomla! Development

From the very first day of activity Solidsystem has adopted Joomla as his CMS of choice. We successfully built websites and extension for all releases of Joomla. Beside popular extensions such Custom Properties and Drop Down Articles, we built from scratch and customized many other extensions.

We helped optimize bloated websites by carefully choosing the right components and the best configurations and restored to normality sites that had been compromised by unlawful activities.

For anything Joomla count on us.

Web Applications

Web applications are software programs that are accessed over a network and are commonly used with a web browser.

Web applications have many advantages over traditional software:

  • no need to install anything on client PC
  • easier to learn because the user interface is that of a website
  • easy to distribute
  • easy to update
  • no need for high-end hardware

The historical limitation of web apps - poor interface - is being overcome by means of new technologies and programming techniques. Because of these newly-acquired sophisticated functionalities, web apps are replacing bespoke programmes once made with RAD tools such as Access or Delphi.

Solidsystem built and keeps building web applications to customer specifications.

Companies set up intranets to distribute and share documents and programs among employees. Companies with many facilities located in different areas tend to extend intranets  to all facilities by means of VPN (virtual private networks) where data travels encrypted trough the web.

Intranets, often looking like portal websites, can count hundreds or even thousands of users when deployed in large companies or other organizations.

An intranet is the perfect place to concentrate, organize, and distribute the organization knowledge. Besides from documents, intranets are likely to host web applications.

An intranet brings consistent benefits to all organizations. An interesting, and still undervalued, usage for an intranet is the installation of kiosk-like terminals within assembly facilities of manufacturing companies. Apart from making technical documentation available (drawings, assembling schemes, electrical diagrams, ...), web apps can be hosted to monitor the production in real time or to manage resources and materials requests.

Our focus is mainly on websites as a working tool. A website must be clean, simple, easy to index for search engines, and overall useful.

By means of a website many services can be made available to users. A very common need is sharing  documents, price lists, catalogues or technical documentation.

More distinctive and sophisticated services, such as product configurators, order tracking and e-commerce can be implemented in a website.

Solidsystem installs and customize OpenSource solutions and develops ad hoc applications. Our works complies with web standards (XHTML, CSS) for increased compatibility with different browsers and operating systems.
