grouping tags was created by coilevi
Hi!

I'm making a site for a magazine. I use CP for searching by checkbox for parameters like authors, dates, categories and tags. I can make these fields, add values, and display them in articles, it's okay. But it would be cool to display these tags separated by groups (fields), like that:

Author: [field1_value1]
Category: [field2_value1]
Date: [field3_value1]
Tags: [field4_value1], [field4_value2], [field4_value3]

So if a new field comes in the row, a <br/> HTML tag inserted before that. If the next tag is in the same field as the previous, no <br/> inserted.

Can I make this or something similar with CP 2.0?

(Or: maybe this way:
{cptags1}
{cptags2}
{cptags3}
?)

Ok, I ask it another way. :)
Can I hide a group of fields? It would be good for me even only to hide some fields, and leave the simple "tag" type here.

If it could be done, CP would be a good alternative for the core Joomla categorization - with the feature of multicategorization. This way not categories would have one or more articles, but articles would have one or more categories, and that would be more better than the core Joomla feature.

In addition, this feature would be a good alternative for CCK's too, which are almost used for empower Joomla items with more parameters than the core have.

Hi,
"grouped tags" is a feature recently added to Custom Properties.
See screenshot as a reference.

How to hide fields:
1) Create at least a second mod_cpsearch module and leave it unpublished.
2) Assign those fields you want to hide to this hidden module. (see screenshot)

On a related note: we'll soon find some time to update the demo sites with latest versions of CP as to demonstrate the grouped tags feature too.
