Use CP 2.0 with or without Seblod CCK ? was created by ssnobben
Hi guys,
happy to see that your are upgrading doing a new J 1.7 version of Custom Properties.
I have a question though I will start a new project and planning to use Seblood CCK J 1.7 version.
I wonder if I need Custom Properties or I can use it together with Seblod CCK? and if they overlap each other for certain functions etc? I have not done the analysis myself but just curious to know what you think about it... www.seblod.com/
All the best!

Why concret do you need seblod? Do you need content construction with custom fields? I use for it commerce version of form2content, cause it creates native joomla articles, which can be tagged with Content Properties.
If your project has commercial relevance, i woul advice to use form2content as content construction kit - it is very good and long term supported, creates native joomla content, let include 3rd part plugins. Besides of this, it can be searched and you can for each section/category create xml AND kml export feeds to handle you data outside of Joomla (or inside of this, from another extentions).
hmm, my posting sounds like a bit of advertisment;) but... as i started my latest commercial project, i have had to analyse avialable CCK's, which
1. i can tag with CP,
2. which can geotag content entries and
3. can run 3rd part plugins like Google Maps:
and i got form2content.

SEBLOD is quite an impressive extension: vast, powerful, a bit complex for the average user. Probably you could do without Custom Properties, because SEBLOD has some kind of internal, configurable, search feature.
Custom Properties is almost* natively compatible with SEBLOD, because both extensions tags/manipulate standard Joomla content items.
*Unfortunately cptags plugin and seblod plugin do not work well together: one breaks the other. To make things worse there's a recognized inconsistency/bug (onContentPrepare) in current and previous version of J16-7 that is not helping in finding a proper solution. But we will try, nevertheless.
