No SEF with CP2.2.2 and sh404sef was created by rvennix
Hi Andrea,
I understand that Custom Properties supports SEF URL's, but I can't seem to get any SEF URL's for CP tags. I can see CP as a component on the sh404sef configuration page in my site's administration and I left all value's on default ('Use default handler', 'Translate URL' and so on), but the URL's are not translated as you can see on Matbase .
I also made a copy of the file in the sef_ext directory which came with CP and uploaded it to the sh404sef component sef_ext directory, but that didn't help. What am I missing. I'd like the URL's to appear like '/tag/field-name_value' or something close to that.
Regards,
Richard

Hi Richard,
some elements are SEF:
- cp_cloud module
- cp_menu module
- tags under article and tags under search results
When search scopes restrictions are in place (bind_to_category, etc) SEF is partially lost.
Othere elements are inherently no-SEF, and they'll never be:
- mod_cpsearch
- search result
After all, Custom Properties is a kind of a search engine which are non-SEF by nature.
I can't say much about compatibility issues with sh404. The last version we tested used to work. Butthat was a long time ago.

Hi Andrea,
Thanks for your reply, I would like to make cp_cloud module SEF. I got 1 step further myself. I found the section Links and URLs in the configuration area of the CP component. I selected the option Tag Name for URL Format, which, from your description, should give the exact result as I was hping for, but somehow I get something like this /tag/field_value.html instead of /tag/field_name:field_value as you can see in this example . Any idea what is causing it to turn out this way?
regards,
Richard

Hi Richard,
please see the following image:
That's how CP + standard Joomla SEF works together.
As you'll notice the format is 'field:value' if SEF is not active, and field-value when SEF is active.
It seems to me that the SEF translation in the example site operates differently.
Unrelated suggestion: in order to make the url more SEF, I wouldn't use the 'bind to content element' option, unless I really had to (i.e. I want the tag cloud to search *only* videos or events or photos)

Ok, thanks for explaining. I got the idea that the URL layout option would have the same result with or without a third party SEF extension like sh404sef.
I'll leave it like this for now.
