extra searchfield in Custom Properties Search

Hi, I am using the search scope restriction field, to be able to search within only one category. This I do in different Custom Properties Modules.For example: at one spot: you can search within the category news. In the other, you can search within the category research.

Now, it would be better for me if the Custom Properties Search module would make it possible to let the visitor chose the category to search within. This would mean that there is to add one extra dropdown where the user can chose a category instead of a Custom Properties tag.

Is this possible?

It should be like this:

FIND
[tag dropdown]
[tag dropdown]
[category dropdown]
[search...]
all words
any words
exact phrase
searchbutton

The upcoming version of cp_search module currently being developed and tested already has that feature. There's a parameter in module configuration to enable a category selector on the frontend, so that users can autonomously set the category to search into.

this feature, although ready and tested, was not added to the latest release by mistake.
We should be able to release the updated version of CP on Monday 22 Oct.
This is how the new param will look like:
