ACL was created by Heppner
I need to restrict access for backend managers. They should see only 2 components and one of them is Custom Properties. How can I do it for Custom Properties? I mean I have a special group for that access.

This is how to do it:
- create a User Group (let's call it Quasi Admin). Its parent group should be Super Users, as to inherit most of the rights
- edit ithe newly created group's rights (System > Global Configuration > Permissions)
- Select the Quasi Admin group, leave all rights but one as they are. Set Super Users = Denied
Now users belonging to the Quasi Admin group are able access the backend and do most things Super Users can do.
How to hide a component.
- Select a components (E.g. Components > Banners)
- Click Options button
- Open the Permission tab
- Select the Quasi Admin group
- Set Access Administration Interface = Denied
- Save and Close
- repeat for all the components you need to hide

Yes I know but for the Custom Properties component there is no such a tab as Permissions. We have only 3 tabs: General, Results formatting and Thumbnails. I use Joomla 3.2.1 and Custom Properties 3.1.1. Everything except this issue works fine.

It was my understanding that the special group needed Custom Properties to be visible.
Anyway, this functionality is not currently implemented in any version of Custom Properties. We should be able to add it to the next release, within a couple of weeks.

Custom Properties is a great component. I was looking for such a functionality. But ACL is a must nowadays. I use a lot of extensions and groups of users. So I'm waiting for the next release. Thanks a lot.
