Thanks I followed the overwrite procedure and it works by removing the "categories" label initially. Bt then when I choose a tag from the dropdown tags the search module refreshes and the label "categories" re-appears.

Will definitely check out JDownloads once the cp integration is working. Until then I need a cp tagging solution for document management.

Thanks

I can't tell why template override is failing. That's a true and tested procedure.
Try purging the Joomla cache.

Thanks, just to clarify. It is working, but only in search module default state ie. when category selector dropdown says "all categories" and when tag dropdown shows "all" tags. As soon as I choose a tag from the dropdown or a category from the dropdown the filter is applied to the blog layout and the cp search module in the sidebar refreshes to show the tag or category that I've selected. Once this happens the label category re-appears. If I then change the tag dropdown back to "all" and category dropdown to "all categories" then the label disappears again. Here's the link again: erln.string.co.za/knowledge-centre

Sorry I was wrong about the quoted bit above. It doesn't disappear again. So it works in default state, but when I choose a tag or category from dropdown the label re-appears and stays displayed.

It was clear to me from the beginning, since I've seen the "It is working, but only in search module default state ie" behaviour, happening on your site.

Here's how I came to the conlusion I suggested in my previous post:

- the override seems to be in place: in fact we don't see the category 'Label' because you deleted such line of code.
- as far as I know there's no way to prevent a template override to be overriden by the default view
- there's a mechanism in Joomla to cache a module's output; CP search module supports such caching mechanism
- the module cache stores the HTML output of a module; upon rendering, instead of re-running the PHP code that generates the module, the stored HTML output is retrieved and printed

My ipothesys is that while the main page (knowledge-centre), and the other pages that have a relevant menu item, make use of the new overridden version of the module, wheter from cache or by re-running the PHP code, the other pages with the search results still retrive and old, cached, version of the module.

That's why I'm suggestiong to empty Joomla's cache.
