After we enabled our firewall lock for FTP access the icon image intro would not show up anymore on the cloud selection layout. Only the custom property extension is affected by this firewall protection, other article layouts have no problem showing the icon of the image intro...?
Why
and how can we fix this?
see example here ayambrand.com.my/recipes-selection/tag/c..._category=content:53

This is how it looks when the FTP is not locked down:
www.dropbox.com/s/7g127mmkmb3ujdt/Screen...%2012.26.50.png?dl=0

The client would not allow us to keep the FTP access open, so we have to fix this bug in Custom Properties or change the page ...

Cheers

Since the issue is somewhat related to the FTP layer, you could try to prevent Joomla from using it by setting parameter 'Unable FTP' to 'No' in Global Configuration > Server.

It's already set to NO as it allsway was..., so that's not it, and as I mentioned earlier it does not affect other articles layouts to work properly...like here: ayambrand.com.my/sardine.html

Why then ?

So, we can assume that the FTP layer is not really responsible for the missing image and that the problem is caused by some other filtering action of the firewall.

Here's how Custom Properties thumbnails works:

Please note Joomla article's image:

And the same Joomla article as a Custom Properties result, with its thumbnail:

The urls of the images are the following:
Article: /demo31/images/stories/food/crostino.jpg
Thumbnail: /demo31/media/com_customproperties/thumbs/images/stories/food/crostino_thumb.jpg

As you can see, the thumbnail is located into /media/com_customproperties/thumbs directory, keeping the same folder tree structure.
Also, the suffix '_thumb' is added to the file name.

This is what happens in your site.
This image:
ayambrand.com.my/images/Recipes-video-EN/Dishes/163.jpg
is reachable.
The relevant thumbnail:
ayambrand.com.my/media/com_custompropert...Dishes/163_thumb.jpg
is *not* reachable. (we get a 404 error)

Now, we know that *the thumbnail are there*, because we can see them in the screenshot you posted.

They become unreachable only when the firewall is activated, hence there must be some setting in firewall configuration that should make those thumbs reachable. Or maybe the folder that contains the thumbnails does not satisfy the rules of the firewall (wrong permissions and/or ownership ?)

Well here is the problem; www.dropbox.com/s/lwxle65iq4kw518/Screen...%2020.23.25.png?dl=0
All though all my full article images are in the folder /images/Recipes-video-EN/dishes/###.jpg
and all my thumbs are in the folder /images/Recipes-video-EN/Thumbs/###.jpg
Why it would find it when my firewall is not blocking FTP access?

What do you suggest? should I rename all the thumb images with the extended name "_thumb" and move them in side the same folder as there respective images?

It better work because I have five sites with hundreds of recipes each...!

I have looked inside the /media folder and all the Thumb images are in the correct place with the correct name and extension. All the folder are rwxr-xr-x
I don't understand what is going on...
