This is an ODD one:
I give you the link to my recipes search page:
optidigit.cloudaccess.net/video-recipes.html
On that page I have setup three of your modules ; the CP_search, CP_articles dropdown & CP_cloud
I also have left the breadcrumps to help find the source of my problem, later the breadcrumps will be removed.
_ When using the dropdown articles module the articles are opening in full all though you will notice that it jump back one level just before the home page. BUT THAT IS FINE AND NO PROBLEM SO FAR

_ When using the CP_Search it lines up the articles icons and initial text up to readmore as per the CP component setup. This time however it create further level down that allow the article to be open in this same page when clicked on since it is the parent windows..ALSO NO PROBLEM ...

_Now when the selection is made from the CP_Cloud, the selection of articles shows directly below the home position and THAT CREATE A PROBLEM WHEN YOU CLICK TO OPEN AN ARTICLE! because it jump back to the HOME PAGE...

Try it and see if you can guide me into solving this.. it drives me crazy since yesterday, I just didn't know how to explain that..
:~

Hope to read from you tomorrow,
Alain

Thanks for the detailled explanation.

This is a sure way to fix the problem and have the results redirected to a page of your choice, with the modules you need.
solidsystem.it/forum/8-cp-20-for-j1617-p...t-is-shown.html#1399

The suggested procedure works for all three modules.

Hi, I was very happy to see you follow up and your confidence that this was the solution but I spend the whole day (and most of the night...) trying to solve it with no success. My only progress is that I think I understand better where the problem lies..:
The CPsearch is listening very well to the new itemid and maybe because it start creating more than on level of menu its articles when clicked from the cp search list are opening in the right place. You can see that on my menu (Video recipe) not (video recipe 2) on the recipe page.

But the ccpCloud and cpMenu are not behaving and the itmeid only manage to have the CP list of article display in the current page but as soon as you click an item it open in the (default) page and in my case it is far away and not looking good at all. On you demo we don't feel any difference since you are operating from the home page base...

I also find out that the cpFinder will only work well under this structure only if the menu is NOT CP-layout but rather an article blog .... Check the difference between the recipe video (cplayout):
optidigit.cloudaccess.net/video-recipes.html
and the recipe video 2 (articleblog) :
optidigit.cloudaccess.net/video-recipes-2.html

Let me know how we can force items selected by the CP module to open inside the page itemid provided and not inside the default page?

Good night, its midnight here in Malaysia... :)

It seems to me that optidigit.cloudaccess.net/video-recipes-2.html is the right configuration:

- video recipes2 is a Joomla Category blog menu item that displays articles
- on the same page you put two modules (cpsearch and cpcloud) whose itemid point to a Custom Properties menu item
- when you search or when you click a tag, CP results are displayed in a Custom Properties page, where you also put the two CP modules
That's how it's supposed to work.

About Custom Properties menu item:

a) if you set the 'Tag' parameter, the menu item will search articles with that tag
b) if you don't set the 'Tag' parameter, the menu item will perform a search without any criteria, thus returning the 'Please make some selections.' message.

So, a menu item of the b) type should normally not be visible and clickable, but only used internally as an ending point for searches.

Hi,
Please bare with me a bit more, to understand my problem, try to open a recipes that have been selected with the cloud and you will see where is my problem:

_step one pick a cloud word:
I.E "Easy Asian recipes" here is the result:
optidigit.cloudaccess.net/component/cust...ontent:53&Itemid=260

_Step 2 pick any the recipes to view it : I.E. "CREAMY RICE WITH MANGO" here is the result:
optidigit.cloudaccess.net/component/cont...e-16.html?Itemid=101
AND THAT IS MY PROBLEM! it has jumped to the home page.
Now I will set this page as the default instead of the home and here is what I need to get:
ayambrand-my-v03.cloudaccess.net/compone...e-16.html?Itemid=249

I hope you understand my predicament...

I am now considering setting the recipes inside a sub.domain dedicated to that and using my main domain menu to point to it... at least until we figure out a more acceptable solution so that I have something to show for next week...
